As most of you are aware, there is a huge egg shortage going on right now in the United States.  The rural grocery stores are seeing a supply issue and many empty shelves due to all the eggs being delivered to the cities first.  If you haven't seen a drop in your local egg supply, we know you have at least noticed the egg prices.  Folks, egg prices have more than doubled in the last few months and we have been told it will not be getting any better for quite some time.  All farmers are scrambling to try and find more laying hens to provide eggs for all their customers.  We too have been looking everywhere and will not give up searching. All hatcheries are selling out of their chicks before they are even hatched! Thankfully, we have just procured 50 more laying chicks that will be arriving March 20th. This means we will have more fresh eggs sometime in August.  Until then, we will be treating our precious lady hens even more gently and praying they will be able to keep up with supply and demand.  As always, our goal is to provide healthy meats and eggs for all our Farm Family, our neighbors, and our community, and we will do our best to do this throughout the spring and summer.  In the meantime, Your farmers will continue to keep searching for healthy POL (point of lay) pullets to purchase which will boost our egg production earlier than August.
